The Cobb Connector - April 24, 2025

Welcome
Cobb continues to be at the center of attention in both statewide and national news. And for good reason: the amount of economic growth driven by our major corporations, entrepreneurs, and everyone in between makes this a place worth paying attention to.
Critical to this continued progress in a positive direction is the Cobb County commissioner election for Districts 2 and 4, which is currently underway. Advance voting is underway this week, and Election Day is next Tuesday, April 29th. This election will determine the majority of the Board of Commissioners. Details are below in The Big Story.

Community Spotlight
Fortified City Christian Church: Serving the Marietta Community
Fortified City Christian Church, located at 2477 Canton Road in Marietta, is deeply committed to community outreach, exemplified by its monthly Community Food Distribution program.
Held on the third Saturday of each month from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm, this initiative provides essential groceries to individuals and families in the Marietta area who face food insecurity. The church's dedicated volunteers work diligently to ensure that all who attend are met with compassion and receive the support they need.
The program operates as a drive-thru service, allowing recipients to remain in their vehicles while volunteers load food items directly into their trunks. This system ensures efficiency while maintaining the dignity and privacy of those served. The church sources food through partnerships with local organizations and donations from community members, enabling them to offer nutritious options to those in need.
Beyond addressing immediate nutritional needs, Fortified City Christian Church's food distribution fosters a sense of community and hope. By consistently providing this service, the church reinforces its mission to restore, strengthen, and transform lives through faith and action. The Big Story
After over two years of debates, court cases, and map changes, we are finally at the final step for the Cobb County Board of Commissioners race for Districts 2 and 4. Early voting for the General Election is happening right now in select locations, with Election Day happening at your assigned voting precinct on Tuesday, April 29th.
As I stated before, this election is not just critical for the residents and businesses in Districts 2 and 4, but for the entire county, as it will determine the majority on the board. The growth that Cobb is experiencing requires serious individuals who know how to build coalitions, have a deep understanding of the job, and are committed to moving Cobb forward.
I’ve had the privilege of getting to know both Monique Sheffield, the incumbent District 4 Commissioner, and Erick Allen, the former State Representative and current candidate for District 2, both professionally and personally. Both have my unwavering support, and I encourage everyone eligible to not only vote but also to help spread the word about this vital election.
